Meet Arvie
I joined Inspire in September 2024 as an Accountant, and it’s been quite a roller-coaster ride – but the fun kind! There are ups and downs, of course, but the people here make the journey worthwhile. Everyone is encouraging and uplifting, and that positive energy makes even the busiest days enjoyable.
Working at Inspire has taught me so much – not just about accounting, but also about collaboration and communication. Even though we’re a remote team, I truly feel connected. I look forward to our meetings each week because they remind me that there’s a whole group of people behind the screen, cheering each other on.
One of the most fulfilling parts of my journey has been helping the team grow. I was Inspire’s first accountant based in the Philippines, and it’s been amazing to see how that one opportunity has expanded into a full team. Knowing that my work contributed to that growth -and that it helped shape Inspire’s decision to add more Filipino accountants – is something I’m deeply proud of.
Outside of Inspire
Outside work, I’m usually spending time with my family, especially my mum and my youngest niece. We love going on food trips together – trying new restaurants or dishes we haven’t had before. It’s our little way of bonding and making memories.
If I’m not eating out, I enjoy long drives or simple walks. It’s how I unwind and clear my mind after a busy week.
Fun fact about you that we don’t know
I love to draw! I come from a family of artists, and while I may not be as skilled as some of them, I enjoy sketching – mostly pencil and shading work. My great-grandfather was actually an artist for a local cinema back in the day. Art has always been part of our family’s story, and even though I chose accounting, that creative side still finds its way into what I do.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
Definitely the people and the culture. Inspire is filled with positive, caring individuals who genuinely want to help each other grow. Even though we’re miles apart, I’ve never felt disconnected – the communication, support, and sense of belonging make it feel like we’re all in the same room.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
I chose Goal 4: Quality Education and Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
Growing up, my parents always told me that education is the best gift they could ever give. It’s something I’ve carried with me – a belief that quality education is a person’s ticket to opportunity and independence.
I also believe in the importance of justice and strong institutions, especially in the Philippines. While it’s a challenging area to change, I hope for a future where fairness, accountability, and inclusivity are accessible to everyone.
