Meet Nikki

What I value most about working at Inspire is the people. From day one, I felt welcomed by a team that is friendly, supportive and always willing to help each other.

I also appreciate the flexibility and trust we’re given to manage our work alongside life outside the office. It makes a real difference to how I feel at work.

The team makes time to connect beyond our day-to-day work, too. Whether it’s a cultural dinner, a team breakfast or our end-of-financial-year retreat, those moments have helped me build genuine friendships with my colleagues.

Why did you join Inspire?

Before joining Inspire, I spent time learning about the firm and its culture. What stood out was the sense that people were genuinely valued, and my interview confirmed that impression.

Sakshi, my manager, took the time to walk me through a clear development plan. She explained the skills and experience I’d need to grow into the next role, along with practical ways to get there. I hadn’t received that level of guidance in my interviews with other firms, and it made me excited about the opportunity to join Inspire.

What have you learned so far working at Inspire?

Working at Inspire has helped me grow in both my technical skills and my confidence as an accountant. I’ve gained more experience in tax planning, working directly with clients and navigating complex matters with the ATO.

As I’ve progressed into a Senior Accountant role, I’ve also learned how much I enjoy sharing what I know and supporting newer team members. Every client and every challenge brings something different, and I’m still learning from the people around me.

Outside of Inspire

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends. I’m close to my family, and making time for them is an important part of my week.

I also enjoy starting the day with a workout. Whether I’m at the gym or out for a walk, being active helps me feel energised and clear-headed. And these days, a lot of my time outside work revolves around Fandoq, my Cavoodle. He brings plenty of fun to my everyday life.

How did you get interested in accounting?

My dad first sparked my interest in accounting. Growing up, I watched him manage the finances for his own business, and I was fascinated by how much thought and care he put into it.

Seeing the role accounting played in his business inspired me to pursue it as a career. He’s still a role model for me today.

Fun fact about Nikki

While I was studying, I worked as a swimming teacher for kids. I loved being in the water and seeing their confidence grow as they learned to swim. It was a fun and rewarding job, and I still love swimming today!

What are some books/podcasts/movies/documentaries you recommend?

I’m a big fan of Oprah Winfrey’s books—I’ve read every one of them. For podcasts, I recommend Do You F***** Mind?* The name might catch you off guard, but I enjoy its honest, thought-provoking conversations about life.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

The two goals that resonate most with me are Zero Hunger and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. It’s difficult to see people around the world living without reliable access to food or safety. I believe everyone deserves the chance to meet their basic needs and live with dignity.
