Meet Darlene
I joined Inspire in March 2026, and my first month has already been such a warm and welcoming experience. I work in Client Services, where I support the Client Services Coordinators, assist accountants and managers, and help keep things running smoothly across a range of admin and client service tasks. From handling ATO correspondence to updating work templates and client details in Karbon and XPM, I’ve quickly seen how varied and important the role can be.
What I enjoy most is that there is always something new to learn. Coming from previous admin and client services roles, I was already familiar with some parts of the work, but being at Inspire has shown me how much broader the role can be. It is not just about one task or one system. There are always opportunities to build knowledge, support the team in different ways, and keep growing professionally.
One of the things that has stood out to me most is how supportive the team has been. Even as someone new, I’ve felt appreciated for the work I do, and that has made a big difference. I also really value the trust and flexibility at Inspire. There is a strong focus on getting the work done well, without being micromanaged, and that gives me the space to prioritise effectively and work in a way that feels productive.
So far, one project I’ve been proud to contribute to is updating assigned client owners and managers in Karbon. It may seem like a small detail, but having accurate client information in the system makes it easier for the team to check ownership and stay aligned. Being able to contribute to improvements like that has been really fulfilling, and I’m looking forward to taking on even more as I continue to grow in the role.
Outside of Inspire
Outside of work, I enjoy simple and meaningful things. Before pregnancy, I loved visiting cafés and coffee shops with my cousins, and I’m also part of a church cell group where we meet weekly for Bible study and fellowship. These days, I spend more time at home, especially on weekends, where I enjoy watching series and doing a bit of cooking.
Fun Fact
A fun fact about me is that I cannot really shout, even when I try. My voice tends to fade out instead of getting louder, which is actually one of the reasons I did not pursue a reporting path after studying Mass Communication. It has turned into one of those funny little things about me that friends and family know well.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
My favourite thing about working at Inspire is the trust and flexibility. I really appreciate that there is no micromanagement. Instead, I’m given the freedom to manage my priorities, focus on what is most effective, and get things done properly. That kind of environment makes me feel trusted and motivated to do my best work.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 4: Quality Education
I believe continuous learning opens more opportunities, both professionally and personally. In my role, I value the chance to keep learning, growing, and adapting, especially as I take on new responsibilities and continue developing in a leadership-focused position.
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
Good health and well-being are very important to me because taking care of both physical and mental health helps us live a more balanced life. Especially now, I feel how important it is to prioritise health, not just for ourselves, but for the people we care about too.
