Meet Kahlea
I joined Inspire in September 2025 as a Team Assistant, and it’s been such a fun and fulfilling experience so far. My role is very diverse – one day I’m following up with clients and supporting the accountants, and the next I’m organising lanyards, planning retreats, or making sure the office is stocked with essentials like bread and milk. Every day brings something different, and I absolutely love that variety.
Before joining Inspire, I worked across customer service and administration, including a few years as a receptionist at a cardiology clinic. That’s where I discovered how much I enjoy the balance between helping people and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. I wanted a role that still gave me that sense of purpose but with more variety – and Inspire turned out to be the perfect fit.
What has your journey at Inspire been like so far?
It has honestly been amazing. I’ve worked in places before that had no clear processes or structure, which made it hard to find your footing. But here, there has been genuine support, and guidance from day one. Everyone is very welcoming and happy to teach me the ropes.
There’s also no sense of hierarchy or judgment – you can go to anyone for help, from your teammates to Ben himself, and you’ll always get a kind and genuine response. Having a CEO who’s down-to-earth and funny is something really special – it sets the tone for the whole culture.
What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
Definitely helping the team. Everyone’s workload can get pretty full-on at times, and being able to jump in, lighten the load, and keep things organised is so rewarding. The appreciation I get from the team makes it even better, and it’s nice knowing that what I do really makes a difference day-to-day.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
The people, hands down.
Every meeting – from our Monday win of the week, to Wednesday Kahoot and Friday’s Thank You Circle – have such a positive, supportive energy. There are no cliques or egos, just a team that genuinely cares about each other. It’s such a refreshing and happy environment to be part of.
Outside of Inspire
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my friends, and doing my Wednesday dance classes. I also really value my alone time – reading, watching Netflix, or just doom-scrolling (we’ve all been there!). It’s all about balance – one day for social time, and the next for some quiet me-time.
My favourite book series is The Medoran Chronicles by Lynette Noni. It’s a young adult fantasy full of magic, emotion, and adventure – I cried a lot while reading it. It’s beautifully written, and I’m so excited for her next series coming out soon.
Fun Fact About Me
I have 26 tattoos! Most of them are on my arms, and they’re a mix of meaningful pieces and flash designs I just thought looked cool. It’s like having a sticker sleeve of memories and art.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 13: Climate Action
Goal 14: Life Below Water
These goals have always resonated with me. I remember watching videos in school about how much damage is being done to marine life and seeing those heartbreaking images of polar bears stranded on tiny ice patches. It made a lasting impact on me.
Climate change feels like one of those things that could become irreversible if we don’t act fast enough, and I wish we were doing more to protect the environment before it’s too late.
