Meet JB
I joined Inspire in July 2025 as a Marketing Assistant, and I’ve been having a great time ever since. When I first applied, I didn’t expect an accounting firm to have a full marketing team – but once I learned how creative and forward-thinking Inspire is, I knew it was the right fit.
In my role, I handle most of the content creation across Inspire and HBA. That includes blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, and other marketing materials that help tell our story and connect with clients. It keeps me busy – and I love it.
Before Inspire, I mainly worked in product marketing, so shifting to promoting professional services has been a refreshing challenge. It’s pushed me to grow creatively and strategically, and I’ve learned a lot from Roze, Kash, and Ben along the way.
What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
For me, it’s those moments when Rose approves and appreciates my work. Since most of my projects happen behind the scenes and I don’t usually interact with clients, that acknowledgment feels extra rewarding. Knowing that something I’ve created meets the team’s standards – or even exceeds expectations, and it always makes my day.
How did you get into marketing?
Funny story – I actually started out as a customer service representative. One day, while working in chat support for a retail company, I managed to convert a client into a bulk buyer, selling a huge order of our bags and sheets.
My manager took notice and asked if I wanted to move into sales. I politely said no (quotas aren’t my thing!), but I did mention that I was interested in marketing. From there, I got transferred to the digital marketing team, where I worked on copywriting, creatives, and ads. That’s how I found my passion for marketing – using creativity and communication instead of sales pressure.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
Definitely the people. In my past roles things were strictly professional. We didn’t talk much, and I barely knew anything personal about my colleagues, even after a year.
Here at Inspire, it’s completely different. The culture is warm, collaborative, and genuine. You can talk openly with your leaders, share a laugh, or ask questions without hesitation. It’s such a refreshing change, and I’ve come to really appreciate the Aussie work culture. Everyone is approachable, and teamwork comes naturally.
Outside of Inspire
Outside of work, I ride my motorcycle – it helps me feel free whenever I feel like I have to escape. I also love playing video games with friends, we usually play FPS games and whatever is trending
Fun Fact
It’s not so much a fun fact as it is a scary one – I’m actually a sleepwalker! When I’m stressed or have too much on my mind, I tend to get up and move around in my sleep. Once, I even woke up outside the house, near the street! Most of the time I just find myself sitting in the bathroom or in front of a mirror – so maybe my subconscious is just telling me to freshen up.
Books, Movies, or Shows I Recommend
I recently started watching Dexter, and I’m hooked. It’s such an interesting show because it tells the story from the perspective of a serial killer – and somehow, it still makes you root for him (a little too much sometimes!).
Before that, one of my all-time favourites was Click, which always reminds me how precious time is and how easy it is to miss the moments that really matter.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
I believe that if we can create truly sustainable cities, we’ll naturally address many of the other global goals. A city that can provide food, jobs, and resources within its own community will also help reduce poverty and hunger.
When people have access to what they need close to home, it creates stability, opportunity, and long-term growth – all the essentials for a thriving, sustainable future.
