Meet Jerome
I started at Inspire in November 2024 as a Tax Accountant, and it’s been a rewarding journey ever since. Like any new beginning, it came with challenges – but I’ve been surrounded by supportive and approachable people who made the adjustment easier. Our managers at Inspire genuinely care; they’re always willing to help, even when their schedules are full.
Since joining the team, I’ve learned so much about tax and compliance -things I didn’t get the chance to do in my previous roles. Inspire’s detailed approach to preparing tax returns has helped me grow not just technically, but also professionally. Every day brings an opportunity to learn something new, and that constant growth is what I truly appreciate.
Outside of Inspire
Before the pandemic, I was an avid trail runner – the kind where you run through mountains and forests, surrounded by nature. It’s a tough and risky sport but incredibly fulfilling. Reaching the top of a trail always gave me a deep sense of peace and accomplishment. These days, I’ve slowed down a little, focusing more on road running and spending time with my family.
When I’m not running, you’ll probably find me relaxing at home playing Mobile Legends, my go-to game after a long day.
Fun fact about you that we don’t know
Not many people know that I used to do trail running before the pandemic. I’ve shared stories about road running, but trail running was something special. Being out in nature, away from everything, gave me space to think and recharge.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
What I love most about Inspire is the culture. Everyone – from teammates to leaders – everyone is approachable, supportive, and kind. You can easily reach out for help, and you’ll always get it. Learning is also a big part of the experience here; there’s always room to upskill and grow.
It’s fulfilling when managers or teammates recognize your work, even on small tasks. That kind of appreciation motivates me to do even better.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
I chose Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
I remember watching a short video during one of our team sessions about communities in Ethiopia where people have to walk kilometres just to get clean water. It really struck me – we often take water for granted, but for others, it’s a daily struggle.
Water is essential to live. You can survive for days without food, but not without water. Everyone deserves access to clean and safe drinking water, and I hope more can be done to make that possible.
