Meet Pete
I joined Inspire in January 2026 as an Accountant, and I’m genuinely grateful for where I’ve landed. I recently completed my Bachelor of Business, majoring in Finance (with a minor in Economics), and I’ve started working through my CA Foundations as I work towards the CA Program.
Small business has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father was a sole trader, and I have worked in small business my entire working life. I’m passionate about helping business owners build something sustainable, profitable, and less stressful.
Before Inspire, I was a State Manager in a sales-focused role, but I was ready for a change and wanted to lean into the part of the work I enjoyed most: understanding how businesses are performing and helping people make better decisions. A long-time friendship with Riz helped lead me to Inspire, and it has already felt like a great fit.
What has your journey at Inspire been like so far?
It’s been really enjoyable. There is a lot to learn, but the amount of effort everyone puts into training and upskilling you is amazing. People are positive, generous with their time, and genuinely want you to do well.
What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
Helping people work through things they know they need to address, but are not quite sure how to tackle. Being part of conversations where a client gets clarity, starts to see the bigger picture, and leaves with a practical plan is incredibly satisfying.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
The culture. I have never worked somewhere that puts this much real effort into culture and work-life balance. It’s not just talk; it shows up in the little things and the big things, every day. Even with the team spread across different locations, it still feels like one team, and that takes intention.
Outside of Inspire
A lot of my time outside work is spent around football (soccer). I still play, and I also love watching, which sometimes means getting up early to catch games before work. I also enjoy a bit of lighter TV as an escape.
Fun Fact About Me
When I was younger, I did flair bartending, including bottle tricks and even fire breathing as a grand finale. It was a lot of fun, but I had a memorable mishap once and retired the fire part after that.
Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities. My parents immigrated from Scotland to Australia to create better opportunities for my brother and me. Seeing that firsthand shaped how I think about fairness and opportunity.
