Meet Sheena
I joined Inspire in February 2025 as a Tax Accountant, and honestly, my journey so far has been a roller coaster – in the best way possible!
When I first started, I was overwhelmed by how much there was to learn. There were new systems, new processes, and a lot to take in. But the kindness and support of everyone here made all the difference. My teammates and leaders have been so patient and encouraging – especially my manager, Reggie, who always finds ways to push me outside my comfort zone. He has a knack for spotting your potential and challenging you to see it for yourself.
Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. From doubting if I could make it past my first three months, to now handling deadlines and projects confidently – it’s been such a rewarding experience.
One of my proudest moments at Inspire was completing a client’s urgent year-end work ahead of schedule. It was a tight turnaround but seeing how satisfied the client was made all the effort worth it. It reminded me that even in the most stressful times, teamwork and commitment always pay off.
Outside of Inspire
Outside of work, my world revolves around my two little ones – a nine-month-old and a soon-to-be two-year-old! Most of my free time is spent playing with them, going out to parks, or having little food trips together as a family.
Fun fact about you that we don’t know
When I get some quiet time to myself, I love watching Korean thrillers and crime dramas. I’m not into the usual romance shows – I prefer stories that keep you guessing, full of mystery and suspense. (And yes, I remember faces more than actor names!)
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
It’s definitely the culture and the people. Inspire makes sure everyone feels seen and supported – even from miles away. I love how they keep us engaged through virtual retreats and regular check-ins, and how they truly mean it when they say, “family comes first.”
When I joined, my baby was only two months old. I was honestly surprised Ben still hired me, knowing the challenges of being a new mum. But that experience showed me what kind of company Inspire really is – one that values people for who they are, not just for what they can do.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
This one hits home for me. My mum was recently hospitalised and spent 10 days in the ICU due to internal bleeding. It was a wake-up call and a reminder that health is something we should never take for granted.
I’ve realised that we often wait too long to see a doctor or ignore small symptoms until it’s too late. Now, I really believe in taking care of ourselves early, and encouraging others to do the same. Health truly is wealth, and without it, we can’t take care of the people we love or do the things that matter most.
