Meet Mark

I joined Inspire in November 2024 as a Tax Accountant. Like many new team members, I came in with a solid background but still had to get up to speed on the systems and tools we use here. Thankfully, I had plenty of support from my leaders and the team – and that made all the difference.

What I value most at Inspire is the culture. People genuinely care. Whether it’s flexibility when you’re not feeling 100% or simply being asked how your family is doing – the environment here is human. It’s refreshing, and it’s rare.

Day to day, I get the most fulfilment when I complete big jobs. In tax, it can feel like a mountain -but once it’s done, there’s a clear sense of progress. I also really appreciate the way Ari leads. He gives credit where it’s due, not just when things go wrong. That kind of recognition motivates me to keep growing and contributing.

Outside of work

Outside of Inspire, I’m all about family. My weekends are spent with my wife and daughter. We travel, explore new places, and find time to slow down and reconnect. It’s how I recharge.

You’ll also find me around the house fixing things. Whether it’s plumbing, painting or repairs, I enjoy working with my hands. (So much so, my wife got me a toolbox for my birthday. probably the most appreciated gift I’ve received!)

A few things you might not know

Before Inspire, I was a part-time accounting professor at a local college in Pampanga. Teaching was actually my first career path – and becoming a CPA opened up the opportunity to do both: accounting and education. It’s something I still look back on fondly.

I’m also a freediver. I don’t go as often as I’d like, but when I can, I head to the coast. There’s nothing like being underwater -it’s peaceful, beautiful… until you see the plastic waste. That’s one of the reasons I care about sustainability, especially when it comes to protecting our oceans.

What Is Your Favourite Thing About Working at Inspire?

What I love most about working at Inspire is the genuine understanding and care from the people I work with. It’s not something you experience in every workplace.

Ari, for example, always checks in on me – asking how my wife, my daughter, and I are doing – and I do the same for him. Those little moments of connection make work feel more personal and human. It’s not just about deadlines and tasks; it’s about knowing the people around you truly care.

That sense of warmth and understanding makes Inspire feel more like a family than just a workplace.

The Sustainable Development Goal I support

#14 – Life Below Water

As a freediver, I’ve seen the damage pollution does to marine life. I’ve swum past coral reefs -and then seen tyres and plastic chairs in the same dive. I believe we need to do better when it comes to caring for our oceans and marine ecosystems. This goal speaks to that.
