Meet Camz
I joined Inspire in 2026 as a Junior Accountant. I have a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Columban College in Olongapo City and a background in Australian accounting and taxation.
My role involves preparing financial statements and tax returns for various entities. There has been plenty to learn, particularly with new systems and AI tools, but I enjoy the opportunity to build on my experience and keep growing.
The team made me feel welcome from the start, and having an approachable, friendly manager has made settling in much easier.
What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
I enjoy working through challenging financials, digging into the details, identifying issues and making sure everything is accurate.
It is rewarding to see that effort reflected in the finished work. Getting positive feedback from my manager, especially on how clear and easy to follow my workpapers are, makes it even more worthwhile.
How did you get into accounting?
Accounting was not originally a career I had chosen for myself. When my cousin asked about my favourite subject, I said maths. Before I knew it, she was helping enrol me in an accountancy course!
My interest really grew when I started working with Australian businesses. Being exposed to different industries helped me see that accounting is about more than recording transactions. It is also about providing insights that help business owners work towards their goals.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
The people and the culture.
Everyone is friendly and approachable, and I appreciate how the team recognises each other’s efforts. Even something that feels small to me can mean a lot to someone else. That encouragement makes work enjoyable and motivates me to keep doing my best.
Outside of Inspire
Family is a big part of my life. As a wife, mum and daughter, I make time for my family and enjoy being present for the everyday moments, from helping with homework to joining in with school activities.
I also love catching up with friends over coffee. It is one of my favourite ways to recharge and stay connected.
Fun Fact
I have a competitive side when it comes to sport!
I enjoy volleyball, badminton and table tennis, and I have recently started playing pickleball. I played table tennis in high school and was offered a college scholarship to join the varsity team, although I decided not to take it up.
Mark and I also used to team up for badminton, so he knows just how competitive I can get when there is a game involved.
Books, Movies, or Shows I Recommend
I would recommend Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I love Greek mythology, and the mix of adventure and humour makes it easy to get caught up in the story and feel part of the journey.
I also enjoy K-dramas, especially ones with plenty of twists. One I have been watching is Phantom Lawyer, about a lawyer who can see ghosts.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 4: Quality Education
Goal 5: Gender Equality
I believe quality education gives people the knowledge and opportunities to build a better future.
Gender equality goes hand in hand with that. Everyone should have equal access to those opportunities, regardless of their gender. Together, these goals can help more people learn, grow and pursue the future they want.
