Meet Shiela
I joined Inspire in March 2025 as a Junior Tax Accountant, and it’s been a fulfilling journey so far. From the start, I felt how approachable and easy going everyone was – the kind of team where you can work hard, laugh, and still feel supported.
Every day, I’m learning something new – whether from formal training or just through conversations with my teammates and supervisors. Inspire has a culture that values growth and well-being just as much as results. It’s not just about getting the job done; it’s about doing it together, in an environment where people care about how you’re doing, not just what you’re doing.
One of the most rewarding moments for me is when my perseverance and hard work are noticed by my supervisors. It’s encouraging to be told, “You’re doing great – keep going.” That kind of recognition fuels me to improve and contribute more to the team.
Outside of Inspire
When I’m not working, I love watching movies and Korean dramas, especially those that make me think or tug at the heart. Sometimes, I’ll pick a sad film just to let the emotions out – it’s my kind of therapy. I also enjoy going out for coffee, catching up with loved ones, and when I have the energy, going for a walk or a jog to unwind.
At home, it’s me, my partner, and our dog, who always knows how to make an ordinary day feel lighter.
Fun Fact about me
Not everyone at Inspire knows this, but I still have a very childlike side – I love making jokes, teasing friends, and keeping the mood light. In person, I’m often the one cracking punchlines and finding humour in small things. I believe that a good laugh makes any day (and any workload) easier.
What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?
Definitely the culture. It’s rare to find a workplace that genuinely cares about your well-being and not just your productivity. Inspire always checks in on how we’re feeling, gives us access to great training, and makes sure we feel seen and heard.
It’s a place where growth, appreciation, and empathy go hand in hand – and that’s what makes me look forward to logging in every day.
Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?
Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
I chose this because I believe that once a country has strong leadership, fair justice, and inclusive systems, everything else follows. With integrity and accountability at every level, goals like clean energy, education, and equality become easier to achieve. It all starts with building a peaceful and trustworthy foundation.
