Meet Ferly

I began my journey with Inspire in June 2022 and have been thoroughly enjoying my experience thus far. As a Client Service Coordinator, I work alongside Team Riz and assist them and the other accountants to the best of my abilities. My daily responsibilities include clearing and assigning triage emails, collecting payslips, managing document signing, and organising documents.

My time with Inspire Accountants has been nothing short of fantastic. I feel at ease while working with everyone on the team, as well as the wider Inspire family. I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues when discussing our assigned tasks and asking questions. One of the many exceptional qualities of working with Inspire is that there is no room for feeling stressed or pressured.

It is truly fulfilling when the team recognizes and appreciates my effort and dedication, no matter how big or small. I feel extremely grateful to be a part of a team that values and practices such recognition, as it is not something that is commonly seen in other companies.

Outside of Inspire

I enjoy using travel as a means to bond with both friends and family. Occasionally, I will go out for a night with friends, but only with my parents’ approval. During my free time, I indulge in watching Korean dramas, investigative documentaries, lifestyle vlogs on Youtube, and browsing through Tiktok.

Recently, I have become obsessed with collecting scents. It may seem odd, but I choose my fragrance based on my mood for the day. My personal favourite is Victoria’s Secret – Sugar High, as I am particularly fond of powdery scents.

In terms of business, I work as a direct-seller for health and lifestyle products. This venture began during my On-The-Job training with the same company.

How did you get interested in Client Services?

After going through a realignment process that included a skills and personality assessment, I was fortunate enough to secure this job. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect and engage with people. My involvement with various Academic and Socio-Political organisations during my university days has taught me how to interact with people and perform clerical work, which has been incredibly beneficial for my current role in Client Services.

What is your favourite thing about working at inspire?

The people at Inspire are incredibly kind and accommodating, which has made my transition into the company very smooth. My workload has been manageable thus far, and I credit this to the excellent training provided by Rhody. She has taken the time to ensure that I am knowledgeable about the workflow and tasks, which has been incredibly helpful. Additionally, Team Riz has been great at sharing new information and relaying important updates to ensure that I can progress better in my assigned tasks.

One thing that I look forward to is attending the Thank You Circle, where we express appreciation for each other’s efforts. I also enjoy the daily meetings with the rest of the CSC team, as they provide a great opportunity for us to check in with one another, discuss task allocation and completion, and provide support where needed. These channels serve as great refreshers and help to foster a positive and supportive work environment.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

So far, my main impact at Inspire has been in supporting Rhody and easing the workload of Team Riz. As a new member of the team, I am still striving to make a significant contribution, but I believe that my current tasks are contributing to the team’s success and opening up opportunities for further growth.

What are some books you recommend?

I would like to recommend Colleen Hoover’s “It Ends With Us” as an excellent book to read. This book has recently been adapted into a film that will be released soon. The story revolves around a woman who is caught between her past and present relationships and later finds herself in an abusive situation, which forces her to make tough decisions about her life. The plot is gripping and captivating, and I am excited to see it portrayed on the big screen.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I selected Quality Education as one of my top SDGs because I believe that every individual deserves access to education to enhance their skills and gain knowledge. Education can open doors to opportunities, and equip people with the tools they need to succeed in life.

My second choice is Zero Hunger, as I have personally witnessed the devastating effects of hunger and malnutrition, especially among children. Access to adequate food and nutrition is a fundamental human right, and I believe that we all have a responsibility to ensure that everyone has enough to eat.

Living in a developing country where poverty and hunger are prevalent, I am acutely aware of the importance of these two SDGs. Education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and by addressing hunger, we can improve people’s health and wellbeing, as well as their ability to thrive and contribute to their communities.
