Meet Ali

I joined Inspire in 2017, and the journey has been nothing short of transformative. What started with little experience as an Accountant quickly turned into a fast-paced and rewarding adventure. Within just six months, I found myself rising to the challenge and exceeding my own expectations. Since then, my portfolio has expanded at an exhilarating pace, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Within six years of joining Inspire, I transitioned from Account Manager to Head of Product and Tax. In my current role, I oversee the review of family group financials & tax returns once they’ve been prepared. I focus on ensuring that everything is clear, tax-efficient, and aligns perfectly with our clients’ needs. As the final set of eyes before any work is delivered to clients, I make sure we uphold the highest standards of accuracy, quality, and service every step of the way.

Outside of Inspire

When I’m not at work, I’m busy enjoying life with my wonderful wife, Beck, and our beautiful son, Rami, who was born in 2024. Our family has grown, and we’re loving every moment of it! We’re also lucky to have Hazel, our energetic and sweet fur baby, who joined our family in 2019.

Traveling with my family is one of my greatest joys. Exploring different cultures and cuisines together has deepened my appreciation for diversity and the connections that unite us all through food and laughter. Experiencing the world through travel fosters growth, understanding, and a sense of wonder that opens up my mind and heart.

On a more relaxed note, I’m a passionate football fan and have been supporting FC Barcelona for as long as I can remember. While Ronaldinho is now retired, he’ll always be my favourite player for the joy and magic he brought to the game.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

The supportive environment – there is so much independence and integrity at Inspire which forms the foundation of our culture here. If something needs to be done, whether it’s within the scope of your role or not, if you have the capacity to do it, you do it. Everyone here has adopted that mindset and it’s so comforting knowing that you can always rely on each other to take initiative.

How did you get interested in accounting?

Initially, I had wanted to be an IT engineer. However, after the world had experienced the GFC, my natural thoughts were that accountants would be in demand. As I was just 17 at the time, taking on accounting wasn’t a concrete plan and had many exit strategies in mind had I not enjoyed it. Gratefully, I had found accounting came very naturally, 8 years later I’m still in this industry and loving it.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

I feel that my biggest impact is having had a direct impact in helping the team at Inspire as well as our clients grow. Everyone is at different stages in life, both personally and professionally. I’ve been very fortunate to contribute to the growth of the people around me as well as our clients with my experience and expertise.

What are some books you recommend?

I’d say the Harry Potter series has always been one of my all time favourites. If I was to give a single book, I personally think ‘1984 by George Orwell’ is written impeccably.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I’d have to choose climate action and gender inequality. Having come from Bahrain, right before our eyes, we can see the negligence of the environment unfold in real time.

Bahrain having a male dominant country has also seen that gender equality has created an abundance of societal problems. Everyone deserves equal opportunity.

Meet Judy Ann

I joined Inspire in November 2024 as an SMSF Accountant under Team Sakshi, and it’s been an insightful and fulfilling journey so far. Prior to that, I spent over five years working in SMSF administration, building a strong foundation in superannuation compliance, fund operations, and client servicing. That experience has given me a solid platform to contribute meaningfully at Inspire.

Coming from an office-based setup, I experienced a bit of culture shock at first – working remotely felt so different. But the transition was smooth thanks to the Inspire team’s supportive culture. Everyone’s approachable and always willing to help, and that makes such a big difference when you’re adjusting to new ways of working.

Our workflow meetings and weekly check-ins also keep us connected and aligned. They’ve been so helpful, not just for work but for our overall well-being. And since joining Inspire, I’ve expanded my knowledge of SMSF compliance and processes, and I appreciate the ongoing opportunities to refine my skills and take on new challenges.

Outside of Inspire

Before joining Inspire, most of my time outside work was spent resting. I would often go straight home and sleep after long office days. But since becoming part of the Inspire team, I’ve started to live more fully and intentionally.

I’ve discovered a growing passion for travel and embracing new experiences. I’ve been saying yes to more -exploring museums, bar hopping with friends, and attending OPM concerts. These moments have helped me reconnect with myself, form deeper relationships, and find real joy in discovering not just new places, but new parts of who I am.

Fun fact about you that we don’t know

I can drink 5 or more cups of coffee a day, and I can still sleep at night.

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

Definitely the culture. Inspire feels like a family where everyone’s approachable and willing to share what they know. You never feel hesitant to ask questions or reach out for help.

It’s also fulfilling when leaders notice your efforts – even small ones. Their appreciation helps build confidence and reminds me that what I do matters. It’s something I haven’t experienced as much elsewhere, and it really motivates me to keep improving.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

I chose Goal 13: Climate Action.

Climate change has become very real here in the Philippines – we feel its impact through stronger storms, unpredictable weather, and the health issues that follow. It’s something we can’t ignore anymore.

Taking action to protect the planet is everyone’s responsibility, and I hope more people become aware of how even small steps can make a difference.

Meet Jonathan

I joined Inspire in November 2024 as an SMSF Accountant Specialist. When I started, I was the only team member in the SMSF area, which made it both challenging and exciting. With the support of Ali and the team, I quickly learned the Inspire way and grew confident in handling client work. I really value how approachable and supportive everyone is. No matter how busy things get, I can always count on the team for help and guidance.

What I love most about my role is helping clients, especially when they recognise the effort we put in. It’s rewarding to see a complex situation resolved or a client’s concern finally sorted. Every challenge teaches me something new, and I’m grateful for the growth I’ve experienced at Inspire so far.

Outside of Inspire

Family time is everything to me. I spend most of my weekends with my wife and our two daughters, aged five and almost two. They’re both full of energy, so life at home is lively and fun. We love going to the mall, taking the girls to playhouses, and just enjoying simple moments together. Living close to SM Manila makes our family outings easy and spontaneous.

Fun fact about you that we don’t know

In May 2024, I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a zoo in Ilocos Norte with my wife, brother-in-law, his wife, and their cousin. I was nervous at first – especially about being near a lion – but everyone else was keen, so I joined in (even though I kept imagining worst-case scenarios!). Surprisingly, the lion was calm and well-trained. We even got to touch it! I never realised how massive lions were until I stood right next to one. It turned out to be an amazing day – we also fed camels, deer, and giraffes. Definitely a core memory!

What is your favourite thing about working at Inspire?

The culture. Everyone is approachable, respectful, and genuinely supportive. I’ve worked in environments that were stressful and demanding, so joining Inspire felt like a breath of fresh air. The leadership here sets the tone – people are valued, mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, and teamwork comes naturally. I truly appreciate how Ben and the leaders have created a space where we can grow and thrive together.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

Quality Education and Good Health & Well-Being.

Education empowers people to rise above poverty and create better opportunities. When you’re educated, you find ways to adapt and succeed even when life gets tough. I also believe good health is essential – prevention is better than a cure. In the Philippines, healthcare can be expensive, and many avoid check-ups out of fear or cost. Taking care of our health early makes all the difference for our families and communities.
