Meet Tabbie

I joined Inspire in February 2022 and have been appointed as a Senior Accountant under Team Gulshan.  It’s been exciting and challenging at the same time, but I absolutely love it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Inspire has a new way of doing things.  We  don’t have time sheets to maintain and we have an offshore team that prepares the work. This allows me to have more focus on advising and working closely with clients.

I find it most fulfilling when helping clients, especially when they give their positive feedback. It gives me a sense of enjoyment every time we conduct meetings via zoom and witness how excited they are. It’s so great that they are eager to learn from us. The goal is to educate and guide them on anything about financial aspects.

Outside of Inspire

I love spending time with my husband and partner in crime, Razim. We’re both family-orientated people and so, on the weekends, we spend and cherish our time with the in-laws.

If we’re not with the in-laws,  you’ll find us with our friends trying out new things, sometimes adventurous activities such as rock climbing or ice-skating.

In my alone time, my hobbies are crafting my keychains and earrings using polymer clay.

What is your favourite thing about working at inspire?

In the mornings, It doesn’t feel like I’m going to work. It feels like I’m going to see my family and hang out with them. I’m excited about coming into work, and feeling happy when I’m going home. What I love the most is that everyone cares — and it’s genuine. There are lots of laughs and banter but that doesn’t stop us from doing more and being hard-working.

Working with the Inspire team and meeting the clients, I could feel that we’re all sharing the same values and attitude and I’m so glad to work with like-minded people.

How did you get interested in accounting?

In all honesty, when I finished highschool I didn’t know what I wanted to do. My dad was the one who suggested accounting. Luckily enough, the moment I started working for an accounting firm, I fell in love with the industry. The more I worked on it, the more I liked it.

I actually started off as a receptionist. And because I really loved the environment and I knew I was good with numbers, I wanted to experience the other side of it — doing accounting. A year later, I found myself applying for an accounting role and later, moved into the tax division and enjoyed it even more.

What is one of the biggest impacts you’ve made?

As working closely with Gulshan, part of my goal is to give him enough time to work on the hairy stuff, so he would have more capacity whilst I do the rest of our workload.

And as our team grows, I also create processes that anyone could use and implement in the form of a spreadsheet for new team members. It would then be easy for them to know our processes and what our job is.

What are some Books/Podcast/Movie/Documentary you recommend?

When I first started my career, I read this book called, “How to make friends and keep them” by Dale Carnegie. It taught me how to talk to people because back then, I was really quiet, very reserved, and it helped me to come out of my shell.

Which Sustainable Development Goal(s) do you choose and why?

As someone who came from Bangladesh, I would stand for Reduced Inequalities because there are a lot of aspects to consider there. I’d also choose Responsible Consumption and Production because of its ideal sustainable lifestyle.
